This floor offers larger desks for better collaboration and group work. We also have an IT help desk to assist you with any computer/printing questions. If these computers are full, you may be able to use the computers in the classrooms behind this area (225 and 226) if sessions are not being held. Schedules are available on their doors.
Located in the Scholarly Commons on the 2nd floor of the library, the Digital Media Center (DMC) is a space designed for collaborative learning. It serves as an environment for creating course-related multimedia presentations, projects and portfolios. It provides specialized tools and equipment for working with digital media complete with spacious workstations and seating, and equipment to support students and faculty in the creation of digital imaging, graphic design and illustration, animation, creation and conversion of media for the web, desktop publishing, multimedia presentations, digital video, encoding and serving, and the design and creation of DVDs and streaming video/audio.
Created to support and assist UMassD students, faculty and staff, the Digital Media Center provides experienced support and one-on-one consultation in the creation of digital media, photos, audio, videos and web for assignments, projects, coursework, and publications. With the wide variety of production equipment and software installed on the DMC workstations, we have everything you need to create fresh and original digital media content. We suggest you consult with DMC staff before you begin your project so that we can provide you with the best assistance possible.
