About this Page

Finding statistics can be difficult. You should begin by asking yourself what organization would be interested in collecting the data your interested in. This page lists only a small fraction of the websites providing public policy related statistics. If you need help finding specific information feel free to email me.

American Fact Finder
American Fact Finder is a good source for census related data. Use this site to find demographic information such as school enrollment or the number of residents who hold a bachelor's degree. Going forward, use the "Explore Census Data" link below to access updated census and demographic information.

This is the Census Bureau's site for 2010 data.

Fedstats
This site is a gateway to government statistics online.
Kids Count
Kids Count offers detailed data pertaining to children and their well-being and includes state, county and municipal level education statistics.

Massachusetts Dept. of Education
Use the MA DOE website to find statistics such as MCAS scores.
National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
NCES "is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education." It includes local, state, federal and international data on topics such as assessment, public and private schools, surveys and more. This database allows the creation of tables and the analysis of data using the tools on the site.
