Is there a specific resource you want that we don't have? You can request books, articles, and more from other libraries through interlibrary loan (ILL) at no cost. If you have questions or need more help, please feel free to contact a librarian!
The first time you use Interlibrary Loan, you need to set up an account in ILLiad, our ILL platform. This is where you will place requests and retrieve your electronic articles. To set up your account, go to the main Interlibrary Loan website and click on "Login to your Illiad Account" button. You will be prompted to log in with your UMassD credentials and populate your ILLiad profile.
To request the item you want, choose the appropriate form. Please be careful to complete all the required fields accurately. The turnaround time is largely dependent upon the loaning institution, but most requests will be filled within a week.
You will be notified by email when your request arrives. Please note that all physical items borrowed through interlibrary loan must be picked up at the circulation desk on the first floor of the library.
Questions? Visit the ILL FAQ page, email libill@umassd.edu, or ask a librarian.
Note: Textbooks and other material (DVDs, CDs, etc.) required for UMass Dartmouth classes cannot be requested be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
You can obtain a Boston Library Consortium card at the Library's Circulation Desk. This card grants you access to several academic libraries throughout New England. While we are your primary library, you may find one of these libraries more convenient if you don't live close to campus.
