Articles cover topics that are timely and specific. You will need to search a database to find articles that are of interest.

A number of databases are relevant to Sustainability. ABI/Inform Global will help you to find articles published from a business perspective. SocIndex includes articles in social science. Political Science Complete is a good starting point for articles pertaining to political science and policy.

Magazines & Journals

This database provides extensive international coverage of business and economics topics. You can search the full-text, citations, and abstracts of scholarly and trade journal articles, market and industry reports, working papers, dissertations, business cases, and conference procedings.

ABI Inform Trade & Industry
ABI Trade & Industry is a good to use when looking for trade journals, which are magazines targeting practitioners. They are often news magazines with a very narrow focus and include advertising and announcements of interest to professionals in a a particular field.

GreenFILE (EBSCO) This link opens in a new window
This database includes citations, abstracts, and some full-text articles from scholarly journals and magazines as well as government documents and reports. Subjects focus on the connection between the environment and disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health, and technology.
JSTOR This link opens in a new window
Search this full-text online collection of scholarly journal articles and ebooks on all subjects. JSTOR stands for "journal storage," so many journals date back to their first issue but may not have the most recent issues available. To find citations for articles unavailable to us in our subscription, just use advanced search and under "Select an access type" choose "All Content."
Google Scholar This link opens in a new window
Google Scholar can be a helpful supplement to the library's suite of databases. In particular, Google Scholar is helpful for performing forward citation searches. When using Google Scholar be sure to evaluate your source carefully. Link Google Scholar to UMD Libraries to determine if the library owns the item.

SocIndex
SocIndex offers coverage of all subdisciplines of sociology, including anthropology, criminal justice, political science, social work and social psychology. The database includes full text for more than 300 journals, 545 books and monographs, and 6,711 conference papers.
