Citation help

There are several citation styles which professors may elect to have their students follow. Always use the style specified by your professor. Most of the business classes default to APA. You can find help in the Citing Sources LibGuide.

I use Purdue Owl which has excellent online guides to APA, MLA and Chicago style formatting to try on your own. You can also ask a librarian using the chat box on the library home page.

The Writing and Multiliteracy Center can also help you format citations.

Database tip

Many databases have a citation helper in the tool bar at the top or somewhere along the side, usually labelled "Citation" or "Cite".  You will still have to check for proper formatting, but it can be a very helpful time saver when citing or saving specific articles. The library's catalog also has links which provide citations with the same caveat. Check to see that all of the computer generated formatting is correct.
