50 State Survey

Available through Westlaw, 50 State Surveys, is a useful tool for comparing state statutes.  Use this resource to search for legislation in all 50 states on a particular topic.  There are many survey topics offered, and for each, Westlaw provides a linked list to all applicable laws.

State Websites

State websites make general laws freely accessible online.   A Google search for the "general laws of name of state here" is typically effective.  Use keywords to locate the applicable legislation.  Here are links to a few examples:
