• what you have been taught about Christopher Columbus;
• the social, economic and environmental impact that Columbus had on the communities he encountered;
• how historical thinking evolves as society changes.

The primary sources, books and journal articles that are suggested in this guide provide a late 20th and 21st century understanding of who Christoper Columbus was and the long-term impact his travels had on American history.
