Due to the nature of the exhibit--where the focus was on the words of our interviewees--the co-PIs felt it was necessary to provide some contextual information about some of the people, places, and events that were mentioned during the interviews in order for the audience to get a better understanding of what the interviewees were speaking of.
One of the connecting threads between the stories told by the Milton Street residents and the general participants was the prevalence that the 'Verdean Vets' and Our Lady of Assumption had in their lives although both of these were located in New Bedford. In addition, a number of the interviewees mentioned Sylvia's Wrecking.
