Scholarly Legal Research

This guide presents resources for finding articles, books, and primary law to cite and discuss in your scholarly writing.

About

This page provides information about what to do when you would like a book or article that our library does not own.

Requesting a Book or Article

If you come across a citation to an item that we do not have in our collection, please ask a librarian to request the book or article from another library.  You may also email your request to lawlib@umassd.edu.

The arrival time for interlibrary loan requests varies. It often takes about a week for a book to arrive from another library.  The loan period also varies because it is determined by the library that owns the material.  A 30 day loan is common for books.

You may also choose to make an ILL request online using your UMD credentials.
