Faculty Guide to Library Services

Recommending Titles for Purchase

Your liaison librarian welcomes suggestions for books to add to our collection. We endeavor to buy materials that support the curriculum and faculty research.

Please note that we do not purchase textbooks that are assigned as required reading for classes.

Finding Books & eBooks in Primo

Primo serves as our library catalog. You can use it to find all the books and ebooks that are part of our collection.

Finding Books in the Library

Our general collection is located on the 3rd and 5th floors of the library and may be checked out. We use the Library of Congress classification system. The 3rd floor has our art, music, and literature collections (call numbers M, N, P); all other books are on the 5th floor.

We also have a closed storage collection in our ground floor. To request books from storage, fill out a form at the circulation desk or request them through Primo (see this quick video to learn how). Retrieval can take time, so we batch our requests and collect them a few times a day. We will email you when your item is ready for checkout.

Finding Books Beyond Our Library

Consult the Interlibrary Loan tab for information on how to get books from other libraries.
