Faculty Guide to Library Services: Journals & Databases

Research Databases

Subject Guides

Liaison librarians maintain research guides which feature library databases suitable to specific disciplines.

Tips and Tricks

Accessing Articles Via Library Subscriptions

The library maintains subscription access to thousands of full-text journals. Many of your favorite journals are reflected in our holdings. When you and your students use journals via the library web site, it gives us the most accurate picture of what is most valuable to you.

When assigning course readings, we encourage you to link directly to articles via our library subscriptions. Many databases provide easy permalinks for you to insert in your myCourses sites. This is preferable to downloading pdfs into your course site because it registers usage of the article multiple times, as well as gives your students a better understanding of how to access library resources on their own.

When reading journal articles for your own research, we encourage you to go through the library web site for access, rather than using a personal subscription. The usage this registers helps us better understand and meet your needs. You can access our journals directly via the search box above.

Find Journals by Title

Use this search box when you know the journal title you're looking for. If you're looking for articles by subject, see the Find Articles tab.
